11th of June Boogieman & TOKO/MC proudly present 'A welcome party for the Fela Cast' - live on stage Franck Biyong & Massak

Cameroonian composer, producer and multi instrumentalist Franck Biyong operates outside the boundaries which map the trajectories of African musicians in and out of the continent.

Fueled by the sound of West African rhytm and song and the energy of the West London broken beat scene he brought his African musical roots into new directions. Doing so, he layed down the fundaments of the Afrolectric sound of his band Massak witch he formed in 1997 right after Fela's death.

Floor Violence; A film about dance spirit

Floor violence is a short film by IG Culture aka shots man. Set in a South London studio 28.10.08, this was a special day of dance, talk, jokes, old beefs and fun as the legends of the London Jazz Dance scene come together again after nearly 20 years. Producer and International  DJ IG Culture took on his alter ego Shotsman to get to the route of why and how people connect their bodies with musical rhythm. His quest has led him to Africa, and Asia, next stop Amsterdam to drop a DJ set strictly for the fling foot crew. He will be showing this short film as well as another exclusive vintage dance feature with some rare and amazing 80ties Jazz dance footage shot on super8 as a special bonus. A must see for all dancers!

The Return of Peven Everett @ Boogieman 28th of April

Holland needed to wait over ten years for the return of golden boy Peven Everett.

Some have likened him to the Prince of independent soul and dance music, a multi-instrumental child prodigy who played several instruments by age ten, Peven Everett has always been the underground's genius with a cult status that sometimes reaches mythical stages. As he got soul by the pound, eighteen projects over the last 13 years, including nine official commercial releases, Everett lives up to his Prince comparisons in his prolificness, if not always in vocal consistency and appeal. Make shure u witness him live & direct at Boogieman 28th of April
